Hi, I’m Jason Lazzaro, a freelance designer who specializes in delivering bold, bright style and big agency quality brand development in a personalized, one-on-one way that’s approachable, affordable, and fun.
Heck-Ya! is the feeling you get when your brand:
Looks better than you ever imagined.
Stands out in a bold and unique way.
Connects with your audience in a way that’s totally you.
Makes you immediately want to show it off to everyone you know.
Didn’t cost a fortune.
Didn’t take forever.
You can see some of my work.
You should work with me!
Here are just a few reasons why.
Real experience
This ain’t my first rodeo. I’ve got real-world experience and expertise gained from over 20 years of working with real businesses and real brands not a bunch of school projects and fake clients to pad my portfolio.
Straight talk
There’s a lot of “fluff” and convoluted “design speak” out there that’s used to sell a bunch of stuff most businesses don’t need. You won’t get that from me. I use simple language, a straitforward approach and only offer what I think is best for your business.
Organization and Execution
Say goodbye to flaky, disorganized creatives and unpredictiable processes and outcomes. From onboarding to final file delivery, you’ll know exactly what to expect through every step of the process and I’ll deliver what I say, on time, every time.
More bang for your buck
You’ll get big agency level design and deliverables without the bloated billing and crazy long lead times.
Get everything you need to build the bold, unique brand you’ve always wanted with my Full Brand Design Package.

3 ways I can help build your Heck-Ya! brand.
Logo Design
Every brand gets its start with a logo and you need one that’s instantly recognizable and has real staying power in the minds and wallets of your customers!
Full Brand Design
Want to build life-long-loyalty and a customer base that’s more like a cult following? Then you need a full brand design that goes way beyond a logo to give you the tools you need to make it happen!
Graphic Design
Once you’ve got your logo and full brand identity nailed, it’s time to put it to work! I can help put together a wide variety of design assets, from sick stationary and blow-your-mind business cards to show stopping trade show displays and click-worthy social media and just about everything in between.
How I make Heck-Ya! happen:
Discover
A deep dive into your business to determine exactly who you are, what you do, who you serve and what makes you different via an online questionnaire and phone call.
Develop
Once I’ve got a solid idea of your business I’ll develop and present you with two different but equally awesome approaches to your logo and/or brand to choose from.
Design
As soon as you say “HECK-YA!” to your favorite approach, I’ll design the logo and/or brand assets and present them for feedback and revisions or final approval.
Deliver
After I get final approval, I’ll package up all of your assets in organized, easy-to-navigate folders and make them available for download.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Building a brand takes way more than just a logo and my full brand design package includes additional visual assets to build a more robust brand identity as well as the "unseen essentials" you need to develop laser focused messaging and marketing materials that will attract, engage and connect with your ideal customers.
-
Turnaround times vary but you should plan three to four weeks for a logo project and five to six weeks for a full branding project. Additional deliverables and how quickly you respond to questions, proofs, feedback etc. will have an impact on the timeline as well.
-
My process involves in-depth research, assessment and discussions to narrow down your goals, values, audience, personality and preferences. All of this information is used to develop 2 distinct visual directions in the form of mood boards for your project. The project will not move forward until you have approved a visual direction. If necessary, two rounds of revisions are provided at this step. This process ensures that we are on the same page before I begin the design process and virtually guarantees you'll be saying "HECK-YA!" to your new branding!
-
Different types of communication happen at different phases in the process. Initially, a phone call or two helps us get to know each other and the general scope of your project.
Once you pay your deposit I’ll set up your online client portal. This is where the bulk of communication will happen throughout the project.
You’ll be able to see milestones, review concepts, provide feedback and any documents/files needed for the project here too. This is also where I will post your final files for download.
Screen sharing meetings are used to present initial design direction options and final branding concepts.
-
In order to get the most out of your revisions, I encourage you to get feedback from all of the appropriate stakeholders, collecting all your thoughts in bulk and then providing them to me via the online client portal. Once I complete and send back a new version with all the edits, that will count as a completed revision round and we will move on as necessary.
-
Your final deliverables will be delivered in a variety of industry standard formats suitable for both web and print purposes including .png, .ai, .eps, .pdf and .jpg. This usually covers 99% of needs but if there is another file type you need, let me know and I’ll do my best to provide it.
All of the files will be labeled and organized into easy-to-navigate folders.
I also include a PDF guide of file types and how to use them.
-
A 50% deposit of the total project cost is required to save your spot on my calendar and begin onbaording and discovery. The remaining balance is due when all deliverables have been completed and is required for delivery of the final files.
-
With me, you'll save time and money over an agency and still get high-quality design because I don't have the high overhead of a fancy office or large staff handling dozens of projects at once and you'll get the personal attention and focus of a freelancer without having to deal with a flaky, disorganized creative and their unpredictiable processes and outcomes.
-
Web design and development is a specialty in itself, so I no longer take on web projects. I recommend my clients hire a dedicated individual or company for this. The company can reference the branding guide and use the branding assets we developed to build the site and keep it on track and consistent with your new look.
